About our training

Organisational Profile

P ECS was originally established in South Africa in 1949 as Production Engineering Limited, the local subsidiary of a major British Consultancy. The company’s name was changed to P E Consulting Group during the 1960’s, to mark the shift from its initial focus on productivity improvement to more broadly based multi disciplinary consulting.

The company’s current trading identity, P E Corporate Services S A (Pty) Ltd, was assumed in 1985. This reflects more accurately the broad range of consulting and training products and services available to assist clients.

We pride ourselves on the fact that our client base now exceeds 5,000 South African organisations spanning public and private sector organisations in every industry and region of Southern Africa.

P E Corporate Services has been in the field of management training since the 1950’s. We started in the area of technique training in work-study and related subjects. From there the range broadened to cover a full spectrum of techniques including areas such as operations management, project management and finance. Training in the soft skills was added in the 1970,s. The flagship programme here was leadership training in the Situational Leadership® model for which we are the Southern African representative in an international network of affiliates. At the global level theSituational Leadership® model is regarded as an important piece in the mosaic of skills required for leadership at both the individual and team levels. Over the years many other programmes have been added in the fields of general and functional management, human interaction, communications, teamwork and customer care. To-day P ECS offers one of the widest ranges of management skills training of all the major management consultancies.

Our mission is to provide our clients with a portfolio of management consulting, training and related professional services which enhance both organisational and individual performance applying skills in which P ECS enjoys world class expertise.

In support of our mission, we are dedicated to searching for and achieving standards of professional excellence that assist our clients in producing effective results. This places on us a requirement for sustained innovation and responsiveness to client needs. It is a challenge we enjoy.

P ECS recent achievements include being awarded the P.M.R. (Professional Management Review) “Golden Arrow” Award for 2000, as the top rated human resource consultancy in South Africa. The award, discontinued in 2001, was the result of a comprehensive survey of the human resource consulting industry carried out by the Professional Management Review magazine.
