Basic Failure Analysis
A One-Day Course for Engineering Foremen and Artisans to Learn How to Find the Real Causes of Problems
This one day course introduces delegates to the concepts of failures and failure management. They will learn about the two main approaches to failure management i.e. preventive maintenance and maintenance prevention. In addition, they will learn about root causes and root-cause failure analysis, as well as the disciplined approach required for successful identification of root causes. Once delegates have learnt the RCFA Process they will be exposed to some basic tools that, if correctly used, will lead them to the real root causes of the problem.
Throughout the course the theory learnt is re-enforced through the use of exercises and a case study. Delegates are invited to analyse one of their own problems should they so desire.
By the end of this programme delegates will ……
Know about failures and the different levels of causes. The will understand the process used to identify these causes together with some basic tools and techniques. This will equip them with the knowledge to transpose them from being simply ‘repairmen’ to real contributors toward sustained higher equipment performance.
