LEADERSHIP SKILLS IN THE TEAM ENVIRONMENT

A programme for team leaders

PRESENTED AS AN IN COMPANY TRAINING COURSE

The past several years have proved the growing importance of teams in developing and maintaining a competitive business advantage and in the development of the human resource.  Increasingly teams are being used to :

  • get the job done quicker and better
  • bring about change
  • unlock human potential.

An important aspect of team activity is group work - when team members meet face-to-face for discussion, problem solving, decision-making and planning.  This is where group leadership skills count.

LSTE is a training event for managers and supervisors who need to take on group leadership roles.  By making use of the concepts of Helping and Hindering Roles the Situational Leadership® for Groups Model provides clear guidelines for effective leadership, based on the key concepts of Group Readiness and Group Development Stages.  Lecturing input is kept to a minimum and strong emphasis is placed on experiential learning.
