The authors and editorial team include:

Mr. Deon Thomson  (67) has been responsible for researching and compiling the write-ups on the corporate governance best practices that are presented in this publication. He is the managing director of Finrec. He was previously the editor of our quarterly RemCom Journal. He holds the following degrees: B Com (Wits), B Com Hons (Pta), CASA, LLB (Unisa), H  Dip Tax (Wits). He has consulted to remuneration committees and chief executive officers of leading corporations and government entities on senior executive remuneration, share schemes and profit-sharing for over fifteen years, having served before that as a partner in an auditing practice.

Mr. Martin Westcott (65) contributes in an advisory capacity as a member of the editorial committee. He is the managing director of P-E Corporate Services SA (Pty) Ltd. He holds a B. Sc degree, He has had extensive experience in advising remuneration committees on senior executive pay issues and level of pay benchmarking for a period in excess of 25 years.

 

Mr. Don Wood (63) is the editor of the publication. He is a principal consultant of Finrec. He holds the following qualifications: B Com (Wits), B Acc (Wits), C.T.A., H Dip BDP. He is responsible for overseeing the collation and analysis of the JSE disclosed information. He is assisted by Mrs. Linda Davy, who is the library administrator.

 

Mr. Hartley Dafel (45) is an associate of Finrec, contracted to collate and analyse disclosed JSE data which is sourced through McGregors. He holds a B. Com degree. He serves currently as a lecturer at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business Management.
