Management Of Organisational Behaviour

A modular programme for middle and senior management levels.
presenteed as an in company training course

Nowadays World Class organisations acknowledge the key role played by organisational behaviour in developing and maintaining a competitive advantage and in ensuring those actions that determine the long-term viability of the firm. As a result these organisations in one way or another offer and insist on training a critical mass of their key staff in the management of organisational behaviour.

Training in the management of organisational behaviour is not offered in the place of other disciplines such as production -, financial -, engineering -, and HR management, however, its relative importance in management development has taken a quantum leap, when compared with the importance placed on it prior to the mid-eighties.

The management of organisational behaviour is a critical competency for all line and staff managers, irrespective of their functional specialisation. All managers and supervisors have to deal effectively with:

  • themselves
  • others, as individuals and in group settings
  • human behaviour in general,

in their day-to-day management work.

Research shows that a major cause of manager derailment at middle and senior levels is the neglect of, or inability to deal with the ‘human side’ of the enterprise.
