Management Skills For Maintenance Foremen

A Three-Day Course for Maintenance Foremen, Supervisors and Chargehands Successfully managing a maintenance department depends on the management skills and attitudes of the maintenance foremen. They have to translate plans and policies into effective action. However, most foremen are good artisans who are promoted without formal training in the techniques of successful front-line maintenance management.

The lack of training causes the following problems:

  • Ineffective workshop administration, leading to low productivity and high costs
  • Hostility towards planned maintenance, resulting in these systems not achieving full potential
  • Poor man-managed skills, resulting in low morale and high staff turnover.

This unique course has been designed to provide foremen with training needed to overcome these problems. It is designed exclusively for first-line maintenance managers, and is run by persons who themselves have extensive workshop management experience.

By the end of this programme the delegates will . . .

Learn the full range of skills needed by the maintenance foremen to perform effectively. This will include the understanding of the organisational objectives, practical man-managed and workshop administration skills, and an awareness of the basic principals of condition-based maintenance.
