While Eastern Cape salaries lag behind those of the rest of the country, offering higher pay alone will not create the skills needed to develop the province’s economy, according to international human resources strategist Martin Westcott. He told leading human resources practitioners at a Work Dynamics breakfast seminar in July, that education and skills training held the keys to sustainable job creation and making Eastern Cape remuneration packages competitive.
