A half-day seminar for members of remuneration committees and senior HR executives on the important changes affecting the mandate of the committee and how it should interact with function heads

Keynote:

The seminar will address important changes affecting the corporate governance of senior executive remuneration in SA following the publication of the King Report on Corporate Governance (November 2016) (King IV), and will cover –

  • The new mandate of the committee – towards broader involvement
  • The income gap – and how to report on this
  • The approval process – how to manage this
  • Forward-looking remuneration policy – summarize this properly
  • Remuneration policy governing variable pay – how to set and govern strategic objectives and performance vesting conditions
  • Implementation reporting and accountability – get it right!

The presentation and the hand-out material:

Attendance is limited to 15 delegates to ensure opportunities for questions and interaction.

The presentations will be made by Mr. Deon Thomson (B Com (Wits), B Com Hons (Pta), CASA, LLB (Unisa), H Dip Tax Law (Wits). He has served in both the accounting and legal professions before specializing during the past twenty years as an associate consultant of P E Corporate Services.

Hand-out material will include write-ups and illustrative case studies on the subject matter for later reference.

Fees and Registration:

Attendance fee (which includes hand-out material) per person:   R3 750 plus VAT;  or, if more than one attendee enrolled by one employer – per attendee:   R3 250 plus VAT.

Further copies of the hand-out material (a 100 page booklet plus slides and a free copy of the 2018 Survey of the Remuneration Policies of the Top 80 JSE Companies as disclosed in their most recent integrated reports) can be purchased for an additional fee of R1 875 plus VAT.
